Amate bark paper is a thick, durable fiber that provides a sophisticated finish unlike anything you've ever seen before. Imported from a small region of Mexico, the bark has been used in art and accessories for hundreds of years, but is seldom seen on furniture. The bark is applied to hardwoods and then stained. Afterwards, several layers of polyurethane are applied on the surface to provide a soft, yet tough satin finish.
